Understanding Our Urban Landscape

The Central City Comprehensive Plan introduces innovative planning concepts designed to shape our community’s future. At the heart of our strategy are the ‘Zones of Stability’ and ‘Zones of Change’—two distinct areas that guide development and conservation efforts.

‘Zones of Stability’ focus on preserving the character and integrity of established neighborhoods, ensuring that growth does not disrupt the existing community fabric. In contrast, ‘Zones of Change’ are targeted for redevelopment and revitalization, where new projects can bring fresh opportunities and modern infrastructure.

Additionally, the ‘Village Concept’ envisions a network of interconnected nodes, or areas, that enhance urban connectivity. This proposes to make Central City more walkable and accessible. This approach not only respects our unique terrain but also fosters a vibrant, cohesive community.
